WELCOME TO CELTIC MUSIC

* Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. I am Marc Gunn. I’m a musician and podcaster. I share my love of Irish and Celtic music from around the globe with you. I want to introduce you to some amazing Celtic bands and musicians.

The artists in this show need your support which you can do by buying their music or telling a friend about the band you found. You can find a link to all of the artists, along with show times and chapters for each song when you visit our website at celticmusicpodcast.com. You can also support this podcast on Patreon.

This week on Pub Songs & Stories. Get inspired by the famous Isle of Mist with a story by Duncan McLauchlan. Learn the secret of why cats knock things over. Hear music from the first two Celtic artists that were added to the all new Best of 2022 Irish & Celtic Music playlist on Spotify. It's on the latest Pub Songs & Stories #248. And next time, there are two CD Releases to Share.

VOTE IN THE CELTIC TOP 20

This is our way of finding the best songs and artists each year. You can vote for as many songs and tunes that inspire you in each episode. Your vote helps me create next year's Best Celtic music of 2022 episode.

But it also helps me populate a new playlist on Spotify. I am adding new tracks to the playlist every week. The newest additions are Gerry O'Connor, The Canny Brothers Band, and The McDades to that list. They had the top voted songs from show #540. Follow and Listen on Spotify.

You can still vote for your favorite tracks in that episode for the Celtic Top 20. It’s super simple to do. So go Vote Right Now on Patreon!

TRAVEL WITH CELTIC INVASION VACATIONS

Every year, I take a small group of Celtic music fans on the relaxing adventure of a lifetime. We don't see everything. Instead, we stay in one area. We get to know the region through its culture, history, and legends. You can join us with an auditory and visual adventure through podcasts and videos. Learn more about the invasion at http://celticinvasion.com/

Troy Bliss emailed: "Hey Marc,

I loved your show at Gencon this last year. Great music and entertainment! Some of my favorite Celtic bands are The High Kings, Drop Kick Murphys, (Shadows of Esteren, a indie French RPG has four professionally composed albums inspired by their Celtic Gothic Horror Roleplaying game, it's on Bandcamp and is Amazing!), lastly I love a Duo local to RI and MA called Atwater Donnelly. They are traditional folk lore music and are sooo good!

Looking forward to the bumper sticker and supporting you!"

Robert replied on Instagram: “On your second to last podcast you asked everyone what are you doing while listening to the podcast. Well, I don’t have a Facebook so I had to look you up on Instagram. Usually what I do is very very early in the morning when it’s still dark I have my coffee in the garage and I am a tobacco pipe smoker, so I enjoy my cuppa Joe puffing on my pipe listening to some good Irish in Celtic music. Thanks for the podcast you’re doing a great job. Keep it going! Robert”

Alied Pérez Martínez shared a beginner tin whistle YouTube video: "hi Marc, a quick one to show you my skills (for some definitions of skill :D) with the tin whistle, and to thank you for inspiring me to learn it."
