Submit Your Band to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. The podcast is one part of Marc Gunn's Celtic MP3s Music Magazine. If you are interested in having your CD reviewed, offer free MP3s, or would like to be included in the podcast, please submit your group here for a feature in the magazine.

The goal of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast is to help Celtic musicians and bands sell more CDs. To that end, I focus on bands who don't have as many outlets, namely unsigned, independent music groups. Now and then I feature signed bands, but the podcast mostly features independent music.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Artists who submit music to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast recognize that this is purely a promotional service. No compensation will be received for podcast play. Artists will be compensated with free promotion in the shownotes and in the podcast. You may received additional promotion in other podcasts that I host. (see below)

How Do I Submit My Music?

I work exclusively with digital music for my show. To expedite your submission to the podcast, please send digital music.

1. Encode MP3s at 128kbps.

2. Music must be Podsafe. This means it is either traditional/public domain or original music. If the piece is contemporary and not written by someone in the band, I can't play it.

3. Send at least THREE MP3s. I like to have to have a mix of MP3s to choose from. Pick your three best MP3s for the show.

4. If you decide to send the entire album because you also hope to be featured in the Celtic MP3s Music Magazine, then email me and tell me which three songs you would suggest to be played. This helps me when I'm in a crunch for time. Unless otherwise specified, I may not play your suggested songs, instead playing a song I prefer.

5. Where can people buy your CDs? The podcast focuses on CD sales. In your email, please include your Band URL and your CDBaby URL where fans can buy your CD. CDBaby.com is the best online CD store for independent Celtic music online. I add direct links to all CDs sold via CDBaby in the shownotes. So please consider selling your music through CDBaby.

SHOULD I MAIL A CD?

As a guerrilla music marketing professional in the digital age, I'm a firm believer that independent musicians should do all they can to save money when they can. With the proliferation of digital music, there is not a grand need to mail CDs these day. Some reviewers and broadcasters may prefer hard copies of CDs. When I do CD reviews, I like to own the CD. But since all my podcasts are done digitally, there's just no sense in it. So if you are submitting to the Celtic MP3s Music Magazine, feel free to send a CD, otherwise, your MP3s are perfect.

By submitting music to the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast, you may receive additional promotion in my other podcasts. Each of my podcasts are themed. So your music must be fit in the theme of the podcast before it will be played. Please notify me if you do not wish to be included in any of my other podcasts.
