Why Celtic Music Spotlight?

Since I started the Celtic Music Magazine in 2000, my goal has ever been to promote independent Celtic music groups and musicians online. My hope is to give some of these indie artists a leg up against all Celtic bands who can afford to hire a publicist. The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast made that extra possible by reaching tens of thousands of new Celtic music lovers. With YouTube being one of the top search engines online (and owned by Google), I thought I might be able to reach even more fans for these bands.

Each show is in a bite-sized 3-6 minute format, and it’s an awesome, more organized way to deliver even more value to you and the entire Celtic music audience. Each episode features a new Celtic resource, music news, and of course a short spotlight on some of the free Celtic MP3s featured on the Celtic Music Magazine and played in the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.

Submitting a Celtic Resource

I want your involvement int his show. That's why I would like to spotlight Celtic resources that you enjoy. This will make the show more fun, personal, and help you find some cool new Celtic websites, products, services or whatever.

Here are some guidelines to ensure your question is qualified to be featured on the show.

  1. Send an email to music at celticmusicpodcast.com. In the subject, put “Celtic Resource”.
  2. Include a URL link to a website, service, product that you think is cool. Write 1-3 sentences to tell me about it and why it should be featured.
  3. If you have your own website and URL, I would love to include that as well. So tell me about yourself.
  4. Spammy, disrespectful, or completed unrelated resources will not be considered for the show.

Please note that by submitting a Celtic Resource, you’re allowing me to share it publicly on the show. It’s also impossible for me to get to everyone’s resource. I will include qualified recommendations as they come, but if your recommendation has already been submitted, I will have to move on to the next.

Full disclosure. Some of the resources I share are websites run by me. Others link to products or services that offer an affiliate commission from sales of that product. Others may be official sponsors of the show. I will try and tell you if I include any business or service that I earn a commission on. My hope is that these commissions will cover my expenses and time for creating this awesome service for bands and Celtic music fans.

Do you want to support the Celtic Music Magazine?

Becoma a Patron of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast!

While we don't charge at all for the magazine or the video, there are numerous fees involved in running the magazine. That's why we invite you to become a Patron of the Podcast on Patreon, the official fan club of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast, our sister site. You will not only read CD reviews, news articles, and interviews, you'll also get a free subscription to Song Henge where you can download an album worth of great indie Celtic music downloads each month.

Why should pay a subscription for a free magazine?

Magazines all around the world are shutting down. One of the premiere folk music magazines, Dirty Linen, closed up shop a few years back. Because of this change in the musical community, it is more important than ever to support the organizations who offer the content you want to read.

Right now, the Celtic Music Magazine is the only magazine exclusively available online dedicated to promoting Celtic music. Again, it's all free. But your generous support help pay for the content you enjoy.

Ultimately, we are happy if you will just support the artists who support the Celtic Music Magazine. So at the very least support the artists.

Thank you in advance for any contribution to the Celtic community you are willing to make.
