For your Celtic Women show, Lori Papajohn plays absolutely gorgeous celtic harp! Her Christmas CD is my favorite of all my christmas CD’s.

As well, if you are going to have a celtic women show, is there going to be a celtic men show as well? I would LOVE that..

Marc- one of your best shows. Absolutely wonderful.
For Celtic Women I suggest Karen Mal, Siren’s Song, Cara Dillon, Sarah Dinan, Maidens IV, and Paisley Close.
For Song of the Sea I suggest the Bonny Ship the Diamond (Jolly Rogues), Silver King (Barley Boys), and of course Captain Kidd (Great Big Sea).

I get pretty much all my Celtic music from this podcast so I think these are all songs you’ve had on before.

It’s a fine balance. Basically, the podcast is overloading the servers. I have too many people downloading all the shows. Now the balance is that I want to make as many shows easily downloadable as possible. Unfortunately, some people have their podcatcher downloading ALL the shows at once, which hogs up bandwidth. I guess what I need to do is make fewer shows available so more people can download… Sucks, but it’s my only option right now. I’ll do that.

Marc…I am having trouble downloading Podcast #82, your most recent one. I’ve tried on ITunes and just get an exclamation mark(!). I tried twice and now I am here at your website and tried to download here and it failed here as well. Do you know if others have experienced this problem? When you mentioned doing two special shows, I knew right away the songs I’d recommend. For the Celtic Women show: Woman’s Drinking Song by Gael Sli and for the Songs of the sea show: Wave over Wave – I have three different versions by Knot Fibb’n / Empty Hats / Great Big Sea.

I’ve noticed, throughout Podcast #62 which I reviewed today, Celtic names have continued to elude your pronunciation. For instance, McLeod is pronounced Mc”Loud”. I thought there was a second one in that podcast, but it turns out it was spelled differently than I had imagined.

I’ll point out others as I notice them. Of course, I’ve had the advantage of having studied Irish and picking up on the little nuances that most English speakers don’t get in school.

What a nice selection. I played for the children I work with while we talked about St. Patrick’s Day and St. Patrick himself. We made snakes and pots of gold! It really set the mood and the kids loved it. One boy kept saying he was part “leprechaun” instead of part Irish, too cute!
